GALI defines an accelerator as an entrepreneurial support program that:
- Provides direct support to entrepreneurs through mentorship and training, with a special emphasis on connecting early stage ventures with investment;
- Accelerates a cohort or batch of ventures at a time (as opposed to accepting ventures into programs on a rolling basis); and
- Has specific start and end dates, typically lasting between 1-12 months
